Post-War Figuration in Eurpoe

During the immediate post-war years in Europe there was a mainstream tendency towards abstraction, but this journey took many forms and an entire spectrum of degrees of abstract figuration were explored along the way as artists approached the concept from different angles. Every artist brought a unique perspective, incorporating often conflicting ideas drawn from the aesthetic, to political, sociological and philosophical principles.

This exhibition represents the wonderfully rich and diverse stylistic solutions that emerged during this fascinating historical period. Artists include: Francisco Bores, Youla Chapoval, Leon Gischia, Gustave Singier, Kosta Alex, Maryan, Olivier Debre, Jacques Soisson, Reynold Arnould, Ferdinand Parpan.
